Who can become an egg donor?
Donors between the ages of 18 and 30, who have passed the initial screening process and been determined to be healthy and fit for donation can submit their portfolio and enter the donor pool. We personally make sure that every donor who is accepted to our program meets the criteria for egg donation and has submitted a detailed portfolio. After meeting to understand your needs and preferences, we’ll start finding potential donors who are a match. We’ll then share the full donor portfolios with you and advise in the selection process.

The Screening Process
Our wonderful egg donors undergo an extensive evaluation to make sure they are fully prepared and fit for the egg-donation process. Before beginning the donation process, your donor will undergo a series of tests, based on your fertility clinic’s requirements and FDA guidelines. The screening includes a genetic evaluation, a psychological assessment, a medical screening, a personality test, and a medical history review. The donor examination is usually completed in a single office visit, and the screening can take place at your clinic, or at another fertility clinic, if it’s more convenient for the donor.
Medical Screening
The medical screening may include a doctor consultation, comprehensive blood tests (including HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, blood type), a pap smear/cervical culture, urinalysis, and a drug screening. In most cases, the potential donor will receive a hormone blood test, as well as a vaginal ultrasound, to check ovarian and reproductive health.
Genetic Screening
Donors are tested for genetic disorders such as Cystic Fibrosis, Thalassemia, and more.
Psychological Screening
The egg donation process can be emotionally and psychologically stressful for some donors. In order to makes sure that potential donors understand the process, are psychologically stable, and are emotionally prepared to become donors, a psychological evaluation is administered by a psychologist or social worker.
Partner Screening
If the donor has a sexual partner, her partner may also be required to undergo blood tests to screen for sexually transmitted diseases.
